Business Law Training Workshop for NGOs
A two-day intensive workshop on business law, contract management, and compliance was held for over 40 NGO representatives in Mogadishu.
Somali Legal Hub successfully conducted a two-day intensive training workshop on Business Law, Contract Management, and NGO Legal Compliance from April 13–14, 2025, at our training center in Mogadishu.
The workshop brought together over 40 representatives from various non-governmental organizations operating across Somalia. Participants included program managers, finance officers, legal officers, and executive directors who engage daily with contracts, MoUs, procurement agreements, and donor compliance requirements.
Day one focused on the fundamentals of contract law under Somali legislation, covering how to read, draft, and negotiate contracts. Participants worked through real-world examples and case studies drawn from the NGO sector in Somalia.
Day two covered organizational compliance — including registration requirements, employment law, procurement regulations, and reporting obligations. Our legal team also addressed cross-border considerations for international NGOs operating in Somalia.
Feedback from participants was overwhelmingly positive. Many highlighted the practical, example-driven teaching style and the opportunity to ask questions specific to their organizations. All participants received certificates of completion and a comprehensive reference guide.
Somali Legal Hub plans to conduct this workshop on a quarterly basis. Organizations interested in future sessions or customized in-house training can contact us at info@somalilegalhub.com.
